Tuesday's Volunteering Opportunity - Leaders & Sidewalkers

Lead the way, we'll be right by your side! We require friendly and empathic individuals to lead our horses and support our riders during lessons at our Therapy Riding Centre

Key elements of these roles include;

Leading our trained horses carrying a rider during lessons; connecting with the horse and under the guidance of our coaches leading them while the rider is encouraged to give instructions, for example to stop, go, trot, or follow a specific path around the arena

Walking alongside the horse and rider and ensuring the safety and comfort of both.  Providing support and encouragement to the rider whilst engaging in a range of therapeutic activities promoting learning and independence, for example playing games that involve locating specific toys, stretching, counting

Working as part of a friendly team in a supportive therapy riding school environment

What you can expect from the role at STRC;

An amazing opportunity to be part of the STRC team
