Shiresmill Therapy Riding Centre is run entirely by volunteers who give a great deal of their time to help with the many and varied roles required for the smooth running of the Centre.
We always need volunteers to help our riders and take care of our ponies. Each riding session needs several volunteers to prepare the ponies and assist the riders, and the more helpers we have, the more riders we can cater for. No previous experience of working with horses is necessary as full training is given.
We also need volunteers to help with;
- Maintenance work
- Gardening
- Fundraising
Our Centre couldn't operate without these vital activities, and by joining our wonderful teams just a few hours of your time will have a positive impact on so many people, including you!

We ask you to read through all the information on volunteering prior to completing your application form.
We encourage you to bring your application form to the Centre in person so that you can meet the team, experience the environment and see for yourself what the roles involve.
